Neil Mukerji (Operations Director) - who has written 107 posts on The Sign-Up.to Blog.

I began working with Matt McNeill in 2002 as technical leader on a variety of traditional internet applications. We soon decided that the world needed a good permission marketing solution and within a couple of years Sign-Up.to was registered; yours truly personally crafted the first version of the application you use today.

I've grown the development and customer support teams as organically as possible, largely from my own network of contacts. Within this great team we've now got a raft of talent, allowing me the time to oversee all internal operations for not only Sign-Up.to, but also eTickets.to and our exciting new applications.

I am very much involved with the application direction and feature development that maintain our dynamic, user-friendly and secure applications. I also oversee all systems administration and support process, and am increasingly involved in managing our public corporate presence across a range of new media.

Outside of work I like a spot of car maintenance on my ageing BMW M5, and I'll admit I'm more than a little addicted to my PS3. I'm also a keen winter hiker, summer cyclist and all year track user. Combined with our Total Support pledge, this means I've assisted customers from Cornwall, Scotland, India and der Nürburgring!

A spot of maintenance – evening of Sunday 21st March

We’ll be performing scheduled maintenance and upgrades this Sunday evening (the 21st March), and this means that for a time, Sign-Up.to accounts will be unavailable. The maintenance window will be from 6pm until midnight on Sunday 21st March. We have chosen this time because historically our systems are very quiet on Sunday evenings, and it gives us [...]

IE6: 2001-2010?

Those who design and engineer web pages (and emails) have long been aware that Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) has been something of a thorn in their side. Even basic layouts sometimes require a custom IE6 style sheet, and the kind of modern web features that the likes of Facebook now employ to bring responsive [...]

Social Media makes the Christmas number one

It has been an extremely interesting week for not only the British music industry, but also for the internet and social media. The battle for the UK Christmas number one single has been fought on many topics. I won’t hide my point of view here: I thought the X-Factor’s offering was painful at best, and [...]

We’re very sorry to say we will be closing our telephone lines an hour early at 5pm this evening for a spot of staff training and team building. This final hour of our working week is traditionally quite quiet so hopefully this shouldn’t affect many people, but please try and get any requests in as early [...]

I’m afraid to say we’re going to be massaging our servers this Sunday (4th October) evening, and this means that for a time, Sign-Up.to and associated systems will be unavailable. The maintenance window will be from 6pm until midnight. We have chosen this time because historically our systems are very quiet on Sunday evenings, and it gives [...]

We’re really pleased to announce the release of our great new Analyse section today. You may have noticed that we’ve replaced the ‘Track’ section with ‘Analyse’, and this is because you can now do so much more in there. Ever wondered which day is best to send your emails, or wanted to see a graph of [...]

Today we wave goodbye to Karen, who has led our customer support team for the last couple of years. Karen’s off to explore Australia, so we’re all very jealous of the fun she’ll be having. Except for Brenden, Australian by birth, who would rather be in rainy England. Takes all sorts I supppose! Here’s a photo [...]

Charging for content?

Wednesday, August 5, 2009 ~ Neil Mukerji (107)

There’s quite of bit of discussion in the media at the moment about the prospect of charging internet users to view news content. It seems that advertising revenue is down without much sign of recovery, and news providers feel that charging for their online content is the only sensible way forward. The counter argument is often [...]
